Throughout the years, Boris Bidjan Saberi’s work has matured to an emblematical urban menswear label, reflecting Saberi’s unique take on contemporary handcrafted ready-to-wear. The half-German, half-Iranian designer launched his eponymous label in 2007 and has ever since developed his creations in his atelier in the countryside of Barcelona. Quoting street and skate culture as one of his main influences, his label is distinctive for its meticulous sophistication and functional dimension, whilst still giving a nod to his urban references.

His designs are thereby often eclectic in their deconstruction of classical shapes, layering of fabrics and edgy cuts expressed through Saberi’s monochromatic color palette. But Boris Bidjan Saberi is also a talented alchemist when it comes to reinterpreting common materials. In this context, experimentation is key in the designer’s work, who sets himself constant challenges of innovation. In his past collections, Saberi created red transparent leather to form his outfits and experimented with buffalo-leather, by gluing aluminum foil underneath, in order to create alterable items. He thereby plays with body-conscious garments by customizing natural materials and leathers with sterling silver, industry metals, natural gum, plastic, tar, wax and even blood. From one season to another, his unusual material fusions proved to be an original way of reinventing our view on fashion and accessories.

Each item is hand crafted in Spain and retains the artisan quality that is essential to the designer’s ideology. Recent collaborations with Six Scents parfumerie and Linda Farrow sunglasses have added further innovative dimensions to Boris Bidjan Saberi’s label. His clothes are sold internationally in the most exclusive multi-brand boutiques.
